MN Cup Entrepreneur Contest Open to Applicants Through Friday

Minnesota’s business startup competition MN Cup is accepting online applications through Friday. The competition, which is the largest statewide startup competition in the country, selects 90 semifinalists in nine categories to vie for more $400,000 in business investments.
Last year, four semifinalists had ties to the Northland: ControlBright, Tocco VR, New Earth Ways and REMastered Sleep. They were selected from almost 800 applicants, which was the most ever seen by MN Cup.
The event, which is coordinated by the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, is hoping to see more BIPOC and female applicants this year.
Applicants must be innovators and entrepreneurs who earn less than $1 million in annual revenue. Semifinalists will get mentorship, feedback, education and exposure.
The competition is then narrowed down to the top three finalists in each category, then nine finalists are selected as winners for their pitches. The grand prize finalist will receive an additional $50,000.
